On July 9, President Biden signed bipartisan legislation to reauthorize the U.S. Fire Administration and provide grants through the Assistance to Firefighter Grants (AFG) Program, and the Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response Grant (SAFER) Program. Among the sponsors were New Jersey Congressmen Tom Kean, Bill Pascrell, and Frank Pallone.
S.870, provides a five-year reauthorization for the U.S. Fire Administration (USFA), the Assistance to Firefighter Grants (AFG) Program, and the Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response Grant (SAFER) Program.
