The Federal Communications Commission Office of Intergovernmental Affairs held the regularly scheduled quarterly call last week. The agenda items included:
- Proposed changes to modernize and simplify slamming and Truth-in-Billing rules.
- Protection from unauthorized changes to phone services and unrequested charges.
- Enhancements to 911 services, including Kari’s Law and RAY BAUM’s Act.
- The transition to text-to-911 and Next Generation 911 services.
- Support for transitioning from copper phone lines to advanced technologies.
- Efforts to modernize communication systems for better internet and phone services.
