On Thursday, March 6, Governor Murphy signed A-4757/S4356 permitting municipalities and Legalized Games of Chance Control Commission to issue amusement games licenses to certain nonprofit organizations.
The law provides that tax exempt charitable organizations as determined by the Internal Revenue Service pursuant to Internal Revenue Code, section 501(c)(3) would be eligible to be issued amusement games licenses under the “Amusement Games Licensing Law.” Provided that all other requirements issued by municipalities and the Legalized Games of Chance Control Commission are met, these organizations can conduct amusement games at festivals, carnivals or fairs for the benefit of their organization.
