The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is now accepting applications for the Youth Inclusion Initiative (YII) with $100,000 in grants. As a grant program that partners with community-based organizations to provide summer workforce training and environmental career exposure for New Jersey youth ages 16–20. Through this initiative, DEP seeks municipal youth services departments, such as recreation as well as environmental commissions, local nonprofits, and other community partners to design and implement six-week summer programs for training and development.
With grants of up to $100,000 available to support programs, municipalities are encouraged to apply to build stronger community connections and to share with other community groups. Interested applicants can find grant guidelines, application instructions, and submission deadlines on the DEP YII Grant webpage, with proposals submitted through the DEP’s online grant system.
The deadline is March 12, 2028.
