Governor Signs Bill Codifying Stay NJ Task Force Recommendations  

Governor Murphy signed into law A-4706, which codifies the recommendations of the Stay NJ Task Force. The new law revises certain property tax relief program statutes.

Municipal CY25 Budget Appropriations for Fire Companies  

The Division of Local Government Services has issued Local Finance Notice 2024-14 outlining the CY25/SFY26 municipal budget appropriations for volunteer fire companies and fire districts.

Sign Letter Urging Congress to Pass Emergency Disaster Bill

The League’s federal partner, the National League of Cities, in partnership with the U.S. Conference of Mayors, asks local elected officials to sign a letter urging Congress to pass a comprehensive, clean, emergency disaster supplemental bill.

Celebrate Women in Municipal Government Achievement  

On Wednesday evening, after Annual Conference sessions have concluded, gather with other elected officials and local government enthusiasts to celebrate the accomplishments of outstanding women in New Jersey government. 

This year’s event will honor women who have contributed to the building of the state through local governing. 

Honorees are: 

  • BettyAnn Cowling-Carson, Mayor, Magnolia 
  • Janet Hoven, Mayor, Chester Borough 
  • Jacquelyn Suárez, Commissioner, NJ DCA 
  • Della McCall-Fischer, Director of Community Engagement & Filming Coordinator, City of Paterson 
  • Kim Marie White, Manager & Municipal Clerk, Eastampton 

Tickets are $35 and may be purchased at the end of the Registration Desk, located on ACCC 2nd floor.

End the Conference Inspired 

On Thursday afternoon delegates gather for the sit-down Delegates Luncheon that puts you in the room with League and State leadership and creates a learning opportunity to start 2025 on the right foot. The League Delegates Luncheon is a gathering of local government officials and those who support their work. It opens with the honor guard and Town Crier Rich LaLena. 

This year, three individuals will be honored at the luncheon: 

  • The Public Sector Career Recognition Award will Posthumously recognize U.S. Representatives William Pascrell and Donald Payne Jr. 
  • Distinguished Public Service Award: William J. Kearns Jr., General Counsel, NJLM; Helmer, Conley, & Kasselman will be recognized for his work. 

Whether a longtime member or newly elected, it is an inspiring way to wrap up your Conference week. 

Tickets are $45 and may be purchased at the end of the Registration Desk located on ACCC 2nd floor.

Get your updated professional headshot for free this year at the League’s Booth near the entrance to Hall D. From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Thursday.   

You can have your photos taken and then download them afterward onto your own device using a provided link, simple and easy! 

The headshot booth is sponsored by Associated Builders and Contractors NJ. 

Food & Funds: Join the Annual Conference’s Community Food Bank of NJ Drive  

The League is once again working with the Community Foodbank of New Jersey to benefit state residents in need. At this year’s Conference, please take a moment to help those in need around the state by donating non-perishable food to the Community Foodbank of New Jersey. There will be a drop-off station in the registration area. 

Most-needed items include canned protein, canned fruits and vegetables, and beans and rice. This is an opportunity to support local communities and help the 650,000 people in New Jersey who are struggling with hunger by filling the empty plates of our neighbors. 

List of Suggested Items 

  • Canned Fish & Meat (tuna, chicken, ham) 
  • Shelf Stable Milk 
  • Boxed Meals (pasta, cereal, rice, potatoes) 
  • Canned & Packaged Meals (mac & cheese, chili, soups) 
  • Peanut Butter (plastic jars only) 
  • Canned Vegetables & Fruits 
  • Diapers & Feminine Hygiene Products
