Follow-Up: Documentation Uploaded for SHBC Plan Year 2025 Rate Review

After the League’s Daily Update was published, the SHBP uploaded documentation showing a proposed rate renewal increase for the Local Government Employer Group of 17.2% for Plan Year 2025.

Legislation Revising Development Fee Reporting Signed into Law 

On Wednesday, Governor Murphy signed into law a bill extending the deadline for municipalities to report non-residential development fee information.

Governor Signs Bill Amending Tax Lien Foreclosure Law 

On Wednesday, Governor Murphy signed into law legislation revising the process for property tax lien holder to foreclose the right to redeem a property tax lien.

DLGS Releases 2024 Volunteer Firefighter & EMS IRS Guidelines  

On Wednesday, July 10, The Division of Local Government Services released Local Finance Notice 2024-11, which directs municipalities and fire districts on current IRS guidelines for volunteer firefighters and EMS.

Automatic Fire Sprinklers in New Townhouses Legislation Signed  

Governor Murphy signed A-4458/S-3342, now P.L.2024, c.42, which establishes exemptions and revises the implementation timeline for newly constructed townhouses to be installed with automatic fire sprinkler systems.

Governor Murphy Signs S-2825 Into Law

On July 10, Governor Murphy signed P.L.2024, C.31 (S-2825) into law, which removes time limits on issuing additional alcoholic beverage licenses within the boundaries of former federal military installations.

President Signs Fire Grants and Safety Act of 2023 

On July 9, President Biden signed bipartisan legislation to reauthorize the U.S. Fire Administration and administer grants to fire departments through the? AFG Program and the?SAFER Program.
