Calling for the Restoration of Energy Tax Receipts  

The New Jersey League of Municipalities and the New Jersey Conference of Mayors are jointly urging the State Legislature to fully fund the Energy Tax Receipts Property Tax Relief Act in the SFY25 budget.

Governor Signs OPRA Modernization Bill

On June 5, Governor Murphy signed into law legislation to modernize and reform the Open Public Records Act (OPRA).

Deadline Approaching to Report Non-Residential Development Fees 

Legislation overhauling the state’s affordable housing policy that was adopted in March created various reporting deadlines for municipalities. This includes a June 18 deadline for a detailed accounting of all collected non-residential development fees.

DHS Releases Age-Friendly Blueprint and Announces Grant Program 

The Department of Human Services recently released an Age-Friendly Blueprint, which provides strategies and best practices to improve communities for older adults and enable people to remain in their communities as they age.

Bill Signed Mandating Access to Firefighter Cancer Screenings

Governor Murphy signed legislation that mandates access to periodic cancer screening examinations for firefighters who are not enrolled in the State Health Benefits Program (SHBP), but who are eligible for enrollment in the SHBP by public employment.?
