Your Action is Needed. Floor Vote on OPRA on Monday, Contact Your Representatives 

Please reach out to your legislators urging them to vote YES on the amended bipartisan legislation (S-2930/A-4045) to reform & modernize OPRA. It is scheduled for a floor vote in the Senate and likely the Assembly on Monday.

DLGS Action on Missing Financial Disclosure Statements to Begin 

During this week’s Local Finance Board meeting, Acting Commissioner Jacquelyn Suarez noted that the April 30 deadline to file Financial Disclosure Statements has passed and the DLGS will begin taking enforcement action against delinquent filings.

Workers Comp Contingency Fee Increase Scheduled for Consideration 

On May 16, the Assembly Labor Committee is scheduled to consider A-3986, which increases the attorney contingency fee cap in workers’ compensation matters from 20% to 25%.

The New Jersey Bike & Walk Coalition will be holding its 13th?NJ Bike & Walk Summit on Saturday, May 18, at Middlesex County College in Edison. The theme for 2024 is “Safe Streets & Trails for an Equitable and Sustainable NJ.”

The NJLM Mini-Conference is open for registration! 

The NJLM Mini-Conference is a one-day conference held at the Conference Center at Mercer in West Windsor on June 12 from 7:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Attendees can earn up to 8 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) in one day for their professional licenses. Registration costs range from $125 for members and $135 for nonmembers. More information on this conference, including registration is available on the Mini-Conference website.
