Simply put, a smart city uses current digital technologies to enhance the delivery of local government services. This generally involves integrating information and communication technologies that utilize the internet or wireless networks.

Environmental Health Resources a Click Away

State agencies provide digital tools to help communities address growing issues

Humans live in a delicate balance with their environment-dependent on it for life-sustaining resources, such as clean air and water, while allowing changes to advance social and economic needs, such as housing, transportation and commerce.

Each New Jersey community faces environmental threats and must determine how to reduce and recover from them. State agencies, such as the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and the Department of Health (DOH), aim to help make those decisions a bit easier with online tools. These resources provide detailed information that communities can explore to better understand environmental health impacts, to address or recover from environmental stressors, and to plan for the future.
