Continue to Urge Full Funding of Energy Tax Receipts

The League, NJ Conference of Mayors (NJCM), and NJ Urban Mayor’s Association (NJUMA) continue to urge the State Legislature and Governor to fully fund the Energy Tax Receipts Property Tax Relief Act in the FY2024 budget. But your elected state officials need to hear from you!

 SCOTUS Decision Could Impact NJ Property Tax Laws

A decision from the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) that found a Minnesota county’s retention of excess value above the taxpayer’s debt after a tax foreclosure violated the Constitution could have an impact on New Jersey’s property tax laws.

 League Lunch & Learn: Modernization of CDL Test

In July, the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) will be adopting modernizations for the Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) skills test. On Tuesday, May 30 at noon join the League and MVC for a free webinar review of the changes.

 Legislative Committee Considers Liquor License Reform   

On Wednesday, May 24, the Assembly Oversight, Reform, and Federal Relations Committee considered various liquor license reform bills and held a hearing regarding the state’s regulations on liquor licenses for bars and restaurants.

 Department of Transportation Budget Allocations FY 2024

The New Jersey Department of Transportation’s (NJDOT) proposed FY 2024 budget allocations, excluding the Motor Vehicle Commission, amount to $1.919 billion representing a $11.8 million (0.6%) increase compared to the FY 2023 adjusted appropriation. NJCCIC has announced the State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program (SLCGP) application is now open through June 9, 2023. The grant program is designed to improve cybersecurity.

NJ OEM FEMA Safeguarding Tomorrow Grant Plan Public Comment Sought

The New Jersey Office of Emergency Management (NJOEM) has applied for funding through the Safeguarding Tomorrow Revolving Loan (RLF) Fund Grant to FEMA for FY 2023. They are now seeking public comment on their Intended Use Plan and Proposed Project List.
