I. Cannabis Facility Tour

As the August 21 opt out deadline approaches, we have heard from a number of mayors and other municipal officials expressing an interest in touring a cannabis facility to better inform the opt-in/out decision, among other things. We have arranged for such an option of the of Terra Ascend’s facilities in Maplewood on July 12, 9:30 a.m.

The League continues to take no position on legalization nor should this be considered an endorsement of one particular vendor. This is intended merely to help inform your decision. If demand warrants it, we will attempt to arrange additional tours at different locations through the State, possibly from other vendors in the market place.

Register now for the July 12 tour in facility.

Contact us if you are unable to make it on the 12th but would like to tour a facility at another day and time.

Contact: Mike Cerra, Executive Director, mcerra@njlm.org, 609-695-3481, x120.

III. Conference Connections

Exploring the Conference Website: Health & Safety Plan and Code of Conduct.

This year the League has created a new and improved Conference Site, we invite you to visit today and start planning for the 106th Annual League Conference slated for Nov. 16-18 in Atlantic City.

Even before you register, the website is a great information source. Upon entering the site, the League’s Health & Safety Plan and Code of Conduct are available to review.

In accordance with the CDC, NJ Department of Health, and the Atlantic City Convention Center GBAC STAR certification protocols, the League is creating a plan to keep all conference participants healthy, safe, and comfortable. Each attendee plays a critical role in the success of this plan and we depend upon everyone to create a safe environment. The following are the highlights of the plan, the details will be posted online and sent to each attendee.

The plan is subject to change depending on current recommendations and requirements in November.

The Code of Conduct outlines the expectations for all those who participate in League meetings and events, as well as the consequences for unacceptable behavior.

This policy applies to any “participant” at League of Municipalities (NJLM) events, including but not limited to staff, contractors, vendors, exhibitors, venue staff, members, presenters, and all attendees. We expect all participants to abide by this Code of Conduct in all venues at NJLM meetings and events, including ancillary events and official and unofficial social gatherings.

The League intends to maintain a welcoming professional atmosphere in all aspects of the Annual League Conference. To that end, conduct that violates this Code should not be tolerated by anyone who witnesses it, or is subjected to it.
