II. Conference Connections
Reap the Benefits of Attending the 106th Annual League Conference
Attending the League Conference is a beneficial experience on many levels. Plan to register and attend the three-day event in Atlantic City Nov. 16-18. Consider these three highlights when making your plans to participate.
Learning: The League Conference offers a unique municipal learning experience. The many CEUs available for professional and technical certifications are just a part of the education. New and evergreen sessions feature thought leaders in their fields who share their insights and provide one-to-one interfaces that municipal officials need to succeed. This year the sessions will be 75 minutes with a longer window between for safe and efficient transitions from room to room.
And the learning doesn't stop outside of the sessions. The Exhibit Hall provides a wealth of information about the latest projects and services that may be new to you. You have the opportunity to discover just how these products can be customized to your municipality's specific needs and enhance your operations and activities.
Development: Conference attendance can boost your professional development. Meeting with your peers throughout the state along with federal trendsetters can provide you with skills and tools that you can only expand in a concentrated environment.
Whether it's your first Conference or your most recent of many, taking full advantage of the focus of this longstanding event can dramatically enhance your understanding of local government. Consider attending the Orientation session and the League Resolution Committee meetings on Tuesday for more insights on how the League and the event work for you.
Networking: As the largest gathering of municipal officials in the United States, the League Conference brings together people you might not ordinarily meet, but who could introduce you to new ways of thinking, doing, and achieving. This year, the League’s networking events, including the Mayors Box Lunch, the Women in Municipal Government Networking and Awards event, and the League Luncheon are back on the schedule. We’ll have more information to come!
Gathering with like-minded people from around the state will help you maintain and build your network of contacts and resources, putting you in a position to serve your community better than ever.
