I. American Rescue Plan – U.S Treasury Establishes Office of Recovery Programs
As we wait for further guidance from the U.S. Treasury on state and local aid, the U.S Treasury has established the Office of Recovery Programs to oversee programs authorized through the CARES Act, the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021, and the American Rescue Plan Act, as well as other legislation.
These programs include the State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund, Emergency Rental Assistance, the Homeowner Assistance Fund, the State Small Business Credit Initiative, the Capital Projects Fund, the Coronavirus Economic Relief for Transportation Services (CERTS) Program, the Payroll Support Program, the Coronavirus Relief Fund, and the Airline and National Security Loan Program. Prior to the establishment of the Office of Recovery Programs, this work was led from disparate offices across the Treasury Department.
The League will share new information as it becomes available. Please monitor federal activity at the League’s Federal website page.

III. Stories Sought for 2021 NJ Municipalities Magazines
Sharing insights, challenges, and success stories is of critical importance as municipalities deal with the pandemic and its impact on local governments and the communities they support. NJ Municipalities magazine is a forum where you can get your story out there to those who will really benefit from the information.
The magazine is currently accepting stories for the spring and fall editions. Have an article you’d like to share with your peers in local government?
