I. Police and Fire Contract Provisions – New Data Just Released
Are you getting ready to head into negotiations? The Police and Fire Labor Data Service provides resources tracking the trends in police and fire contract settlements. The second edition of the recent two part update is now available.
What is included?
Selected provisions and salary scales are provided in Microsoft Excel files, allowing you to easily search and sort through information as it best applies to your municipality. Included contract provisions include, but are not limited to: educational provisions, travel reimbursement, vacation and longevity schedules, and health benefits. Visit the League’s website for the full list of provisions included.
This data was released in two editions, and this latest edition also includes the information that was released in the first edition. Data is included for 442 police departments and 56 fire departments.
The Police and Fire Labor Data Service is part of the League’s Bureau of Municipal Information.

II. Nominations Sought For Mayors’ Hall of Fame
The League is accepting nominations for the 2020 Mayors’ Hall of Fame. To qualify, a mayor must be serving in at least their 10th cumulative year for the silver level, 20th year for the gold level, or 30th year for the platinum level. Mayors who rotate into office can qualify after holding the office of mayor for 10 years.
Qualifying mayors will be inducted into the New Jersey State League of Municipalities Mayors’ Hall of Fame during the Mayors’ Luncheon at the Annual Conference Wednesday, November 18, in Atlantic City.
