II. Power Companies Review of Hospital Circuits
New Jersey’s utility providers are taking additional steps to assure power supply to hospitals, medical and care facilities which are so important as part of the COVID-19 response.
Based on conference calls and phone calls, they have advised that work crews are inspecting the circuit loops that supply these vital facilities to inspect for any tree danger, worn equipment or weakened sections. This work has been ongoing for weeks and is continuing.
If you have questions about this contact your local utility contact.
III. Crisis Communications to Crush the Curve
We know how you are rising above the current chaos to continue to serve your citizens. Federal experts estimate that the Country could see between 100,000 and 200,000 deaths before this is through. But it doesn’t have to be that way. If people act on the recommendations coming from the CDC and the NJ Department of Health, we can push that number down, as we ‘crush the curve.’. Please continue to use whatever communications tool are available to remind them to adopt all physical separation/social distancing practices.
- Stay home! (But if you must go out …)
- Keep at least 6 feet between yourself and others.
- Avoid travel.
- Avoid places where people congregate.
Also…
- Trust only reliable sources of information. (Like .gov websites.)
- Don’t share or forward unverified information.
- Watch out for scammers.
And report any instances of fraud, hoarding, price gouging to the New Jersey COVID-19 Task Force. To report misconduct: Call the Disaster Hotline at 866-720-5721; or send an e-mail to disaster@leo.gov
