The New Jersey Division of Pensions & Benefits is accepting nominations to fill one elected Municipal representative position on the PERS Board of Trustees for the term July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2028.
- Interest Declaration Deadline (December 9, 2024): This is the final date for individuals to formally express their interest in running for the position. By this deadline, potential candidates must notify PERS of their intent to be considered.
- Nomination Submission Deadline (January 10, 2025): After declaring their interest, candidates have until this date to submit the required nomination materials. This includes gathering and submitting any necessary endorsements or paperwork to officially be placed on the ballot.
- Submit nominations to: NJBOT.Nomination@treas.nj.gov or via mail to P.O. Box 295, Trenton, NJ, 08625-0295.
- Eligibility: Candidates must be active or retired municipal members of PERS and must receive at least 300 active PERS-Municipal employee nominations.
- Nomination process: Nominations can be submitted online through a secure website or via paper petition.
- Online nominations: Visit https://vote.election-america.com/PERS-Municipal.
If more than one candidate receives 300 or more nominations, an election will be held, with ballots distributed on or about March 17, 2025.
