On June 24, A-1497 was amended and recommitted to the Assembly Appropriations Committee and is awaiting further consideration. This legislation removes the language that municipalities can only provide telecommunications services via wireless community networks. The League supports A-1497 as it provides more flexibility for municipalities to offer broadband service access.
