Municipalities that choose to participate in the latest settlement with Teva, Allergan, Walgreens, Walmart, and CVS must submit their signed participation forms by April 18. New Jersey is set to receive up to $508.1 million from the latest settlements, with this amount being split evenly between the state and participating eligible municipalities. The total amount to be split will be determined based on local government participation, with greater local participation needed to be eligible for the highest payout figure. Additional information can be found on www.nationalopioidsettlement.com.
Eligible municipalities should have received an initial email from Rubris, the settlement administrator, on January 21 with instructions on how to sign the agreements. Additional reminder emails have also been sent periodically since then.
If you are having difficulties with the process or have not received an email kindly email opioidsparticipation@rubris.com for further instructions. You may also reach out to the League, and we will help answer any questions you have or help direct you to the best resources.
