The U.S. Department of Justice’s Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) is offering municipalities the opportunity to lead community-based justice reform through the FY 2025 Restorative Practices Pilot Sites Program. This four-year initiative supports the development and expansion of restorative practices that address domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking. Municipalities are eligible to apply for awards ranging from $900,000 to $1 million.
The OVW encourages collaboration with local governments, justice systems, and nonprofit organizations to design programs that reflect community needs and values. Additionally, the projects should align with the federal definition of restorative practices under 34 U.S.C. § 12514(a)(3) and demonstrate engagement with survivors.
Applications are due by October 14, 2025. Municipalities must apply through Grants.gov. For questions, email OVW.RestorativeJustice@usdoj.gov or call 202-307-6026.
