On July 10, the Division of Local Government Services (DLGS) issued LFN 2025-09 with a breakdown and amount of State Aid payments for each payment cycle. They are now available on the Division’s Municipal State Aid webpage under the State Aid Recapitulation and Payment Schedules heading.
The FY2026 State Budget remained flat from FY2025 for Energy Tax Receipts (ETR) and Consolidated Municipal Property Tax Relief Aid (CMPTRA) has been folded into ETR. The CY2025 Supplemental ETR payment will be made July 15, 2025, and SFY2026 payment will be made June 15, 2026. SFY municipalities receiving these funds for SFY 2025 were paid in June. The ETR payment schedule is unchanged for Calendar Year and State Fiscal Year municipalities. The Best Practices Questionnaire compliance will be subject to aid payments. ACH deposit dates are as follows: August 1 - 45% on August 1; September 1 - 30% on September 1; October 1 - 15% on October 1; November 1 - 5% on November 3; December 1 (CY and TY) - 5% on December 2; and June 1 (SFY) - 5% on June 1.
The payment date and deposit date for the Senior Citizens and Veterans Tax Deductions is November 1. The payment date for Open Space PILOT and Watershed Moratorium Offset Aid is October 1.
Calendar Year Transitional Aid will be disbursed pursuant to the Memorandum of Understanding. Municipalities that are obligated to make payment to fire districts for aid allocated under the old Supplemental Fire Services Program shall do so by November 1. Watershed Moratorium Offset Aid will receive those funds as part of the October 1 payment.
Any changes in the municipality's depository bank must be reported to the State Department of Treasury as soon as possible for entry into the payment computer system.
